Christian Education is a lifelong process. Sunrise offers a variety of classes and programs to help adults learn more about scripture and faith.  We also encourage groups that form for fellowship, support, and having fun together, and those that help us express the wonderful gifts we have received from God.

Sunday
The adult Sunday School class offers a variety of topical, Biblical and theological studies. Some studies use DVD formats, others are taught by members or guest teachers. At times the class has used PCUSA Present Word curriculum. The class spends times in prayer and Bible study.  This class meets following worship on Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m.

Out-to-Lunch Bunch
The “Out-to-Lunch Bunch” is an informal gathering of members and friends that meets once a month at a different local restaurant for good food and fellowship.  The designated day for this activity is on the first Thursday of the month at 11:30 a.m.  Call the church office to find out where they are eating, if you would be interested in joining one time or all the time!

Book Study
The Sunrise Book Study meets on the third Monday afternoon at 1:00.

Current Issues
Current issues that may be impacting individuals, our community, or our world are discussed thoughtfully and with great respect for all sides of the issue.  In this setting, we make space for questions, for the sharing of perspectives that may be new or novel to some attending, and we consider the setting to be one where all of us are learning.  In previous meetings, we have learned about poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, and so much more.  We gather with open hearts and minds, hoping to leave our time together with a greater understanding of how another’s life may be impacted by the challenges they face.

Chancel Choir
If you like to make music, you will find a place in our lively choir. The choir sings from a variety of musical styles and offers anthems during worship. They are often accompanied by instrumentalists. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:00.

Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir is open to all and rehearses on Sunday mornings at 8:00.
